Abstract: Electrical impedance tomography has the ability to spatially characterize the electrical properties of an object. A lab-on-chip is developed that has the ability to image the electrical conductivity distribution of a cell cultured in a circular well containing 8 electrodes. By measuring the potential difference between adjacent electrodes an iterative solution is determined by making use of the EIDORS library. As a first step towards imaging cellular growth the models that needs to be solved are optimized by the use of phantoms. After validating different models, the optimal model is chosen and imaging cellular growth with the highest possible spatial resolution can be achieved.
